Obama's Talk and Joe Wilson's Strom Thurmond Special
Here it is in its entirety
all in all i liked it. Heavy dose of reality particularly when Obama addresses the fact that america lags behind all the other industrialized nations in health care, energy, education and just about everything else that makes an industrialized nation an industrialized nation.
But at the end of the day its still just talk. Obama simply has to make it happen and i know that's an uphill struggle but i needs to happen.
but what really got me was the disrespect
The voice you hear saying "You Lie" is Senator Joe Wilson R-SC shouting at President Obama
Now for those of you that dont know, there are rules of decorum that guide discussions and debate. His outburst was a violation of this code (shout to my MUN people). This is something that you just dont do. So being the social scientist that i am i must ask...what made him think this was a good idea. Personally i think Wilson felt as though he could capitalize on the wild and rampant anti health care fear mongering that has used racial fear as its fuel and say look at me i stood up against the Obama machine. Well his play for attention backfired
Joe Wilson Soon Apologized Wilson saying "I let my emotions get the best of me" and that his "comments were inappropriate and regrettable."
For those of you that dont know that emotion that got the best of him was Hate...the racist kind.
