Blackface is a theatrical traditon of white people painting their faces black and portraying black people in a negative manner many of the stereotypes forwared by Blackface minstrelsy still persist today. Black face is where we get the expression coon and minstrel from. Blackface is still apart of theater and still disparages black people though mostly overseas.
