4yrs ago this week Hurricane Katrina Happened and New Orleans nor the United States has been the same

Here are the lessons that must be learned...

when there are emergencies

1. Be prepared...because things happen and you Katrina showed us that sometimes even the folk that are supposed to be there to prevent situations from going to bad to worse cant always be counted on. So have clean water on hand, have canned good on hand, flashlights, radio, batteries, gas a generator, a way to defend yourself, be ready.

2. Be ready for the ugly to come out

3. Prevention is better than cure. Learn the things that will save you and your family in an emergency

RIP to those we lost

peace brotha. and I totally agree with the preparedness plan.. but we have to teach one another HOW to be ready because they won't take the initiative.

Thanks for the great lessons. I would like to add one more. "Never let fear control you." I was stuck in the Superdome during Katrina and wrote about it in my memoir, "Diary From the Dome, Reflections on Fear and Privilege During Katrina".
