when will the hyper-sexualization of black women end?


For those of you who do not know Saartjie Baartman was a woman who was kidnapped from Africa and was paraded around europe and displayed nude for her pronounced butt, genitalia, and breasts. As though this wasnt enough her body was preserved (had her buttocks and genitalia pickled) and continued to be on display up until 1985 and was recently laid to rest in Africa (after much legal headache) in 2002

Thus setting the tone for European envy and fascination with black sexuality

And in 2009 Michelle Obama cant wear a pair of shorts on vacation with out America salivating looking for something to say. America has this nasty little habit when it comes to black folk and its called racism and stereotypes. Fact is America sees only two types of black woman Oprah and the Video Vixen. And because Michelle Obama doesn't fit into these stereotypes, America in order to maintain its sanity because it refuses to admit that its prejudice looks for little stuff like a a pair shorts here a bare arm there to fabricate a label.

From Baartman to Obama...and aint a damn thing changed.
