McCain the Maverick and Some Economic Real Talk

McCain says he would fire SEC chairman

Uhhhh dude if you were pres right now that would be blame shifting and probably would be a really bad decision in a time of financial crisis especially since your a Republican and of course Obama would fire everyone but i digress.

This rhetoric w/o a plan from both campaigns is really starting to irk me

Yes John we know you like to reform stuff. Yes Barack we know all about the evil that is classical liberalism.

Now could one of you guys come up with something to fix this mess.

Seriously though. Like I'm not buying all this 2nd coming of the great depression talk but things are bad and are most likely gonna get worse before they get better and not since FDR has the economy being such a huge issue. Like this election really truly could effect the fate of our nation. Given the political climate things tend to lean towards the Dems but the Dems have given no specifics on what they plan to do. Which of course leads me to believe that they don't know how to say it without saying we are gonna raise taxes lol.

Frankly its time for a little real talk

The economy is all about the circulation of money in a time of economic crisis under modern Liberalism (shout out to Keynes) is that the gov't is expected to get involved to balance the business cycle to make sure the economy doesn't tank and if it does flatline to get involved to revive it.

Now this isn't the New Deal and neither of are candidates are FDR nor are they gonna get the near dictitorial power that he wielded. To restructure things and with record spending debt and all that stuff i doubt the Fed is just gonna print off money for public use. So that means a tax raises and spending cuts. Where exactly well that depends on what side of the fence one sits on.

Now i feel it would be an error if the Republicans said were gonna cut social programs so their economic solution is gonna be a little bit more to the left than they would like. And the Dems are gonna have to be very very strategic about where they increase taxes as well has how they manage the government spending.

If i was Obama I would start reiterating those ideas put forth in his DNC 08 speech. Outline where spending will be cut and/or readjusted. Outline where the tax increases (such as tax increases for companies who take jobs away from American soil) are going to occur and how they are gonna create more jobs.

If I was McCain I would explain wtf the fundamentals of the economy are and how they are going help pull the economy outta this hole we are in. Qualify that statement. The Republican Economic Rule book isn't gonna help much here. So McCain start getting your reform on. Lay out the particular items in government that are wasteful that you wanna cut. And since you guys like to lower taxes cut spending so we can do something about the deficit.

But hey these are just ideas
