I really detect a hint of This is our country ("our" read as "straight white male"). Fact is white people are now dealing with with the reality that their privilege may or may not be eroding. Most white people don't understand white privilege. What we non white folks call privilege they call everyday life and as that erodes they see it as someone being unfair. And it produces BS like the above.
