The Black Agenda

Since Obama gave his talk to the NAACP there has been much talk on the Black Agenda or the lack thereof. Citing that there are a dwindling number of individuals that have experienced Jim Crow Era segregation which many consider to be the height of NAACP influence and activity, citing a lack of an issue to unite the black community, and increased ability for members of the black community to climb the ladder so to speak.

well i call bullshit..Who puts these people in charge?

The two biggest issues that should be first and foremost on the black agenda are 1. Cultural Reclamation and Poverty.

We are descended from AFRICANS and that our culture, strength and unity lies in Africa not here in America. We have to stop being strangers to who we are. We need to reclaim our institutions, burial grounds, schools, and communities.

As far as poverty goes, ill put it like this: When America catches a cold Black America catches pneumonia. If we dont invest in our own financially, physically and emotionally no one else will.

im glad these folks in this link have the right idea. Action its all about action

You never fail! I am actually writing my thesis proposal to research and explain how the government has forgotten the poor Blacks. It's almost as if they are swept under a carpet, and forgotten about. Of course there are no problems when you are on the top looking down. That is the problem with those people... they have forgotten where they came from. I won't lie. I did too. But it took some things, many things, for me to see that I am them. I am no different. With a degree, without a degree, i am them, and they are me. Shouldn't that be enough to promote some type of change in their education system/ available finances/health care? No, Ike. Not when everything seems fine and the clouds are big and blue. Nothing ever seems wrong, until it's affecting the rich. As Oprah once said in her show, "You can't forget these children. Your children are learning in air condition, but these children aren't." You can't forget them.
