We have a Black President. So honestly, Black People there are no more excuses. We can be whatever we want to be.

HOWEVER.......

Why is it that it took for Obama to be elected and sworn in before we say to ourselves, "There is no excuse for us to be succeed" as though the capacity for we as a people to do great things did not exist.

For far too long we have relied on the "race card" to either excuse our inadequacies or explain our failures. While hate and racism still lurk in our society here in America it cannot stop our hard work, perseverance, or the strength found in our unity as a people.

Lets own our faults and shortcomings not take the easy road and blame them on the system. And if indeed it is "the system" that is holding us back let us take to the streets to dismantle it rather than shrug our shoulders and accept defeat.
