Dammit Jesse!!! For once its not Sr.
First OJ now you too!!! lol im playing im behind JJ Jr. on this one.
Okay if you havent been paying attention. Read This. A Sad day in government indeed. Corruption just sucks and makes it harder for political science types such as myself to convince others that politics is worth one's time. Come to think about it the prevention corruption is reason enough to get involved but thats another blog.
One of the names implicated is Jesse Jackson Jr. At this time I feel fairly confindent that Jesse Jr. had nothing to do with this outside of being one of the candidates who wanted the seat. I can say this becasue the fbi said this:
This is a nightmare for Jesse Jr. His political eneimies are gonna call his character in question due to his associates and he is gonna have to defend his reputation for quite sometime for just being brought up in this. Take the following for example
This is a poll i found on one of the web communities I frequent and 24% of people that took the poll believe he's lying and the other 55% aren't sure of whats going on. Just goes to prove my point political reputations are very fragile things. Ask John Kerry.
As for those unnamed emissaries that offered up bribes are most likely gonna be found out. Blagojevich is being very cooperative so expect to hear their names.
In closing I understand the merits of having a civil rights leader in the senate but offering a bribe on his behalf (and without his knowledge not as though having his permission would have made it okay) does more harm than anything.
oh one last thing.
Does this hurt Obama being that he's from Illinois.
The economy still sucks correct? Right so as long as the economy sucks, that will be the people's main focus.
