And So The Gap Narrows MEGA POST
So if you being paying attention you prolly noticed the bottom fell the fuck out with AIG taking a Super L earlier this week
Thereby shifting the news cycle to issue of the Economy away from Bake Fest of McCain campaign lying/Palin no experience having ass trying to front and Obama elitism and lack of leadership.
*The interview was edited so something aren't in context in the Palin link but yeah you get the idea*
In this situation the Democrats have an advantage due to the fact that McCain strength is not the economy, i mean dude could not(actually would not) tell you how many houses he/cindy own. However its not Obama's strong suit either. Obama is gonna have to do alot more than say McCain/any Republican=Bush 3. And he has yet to do this and thus the polls have narrowed dramatically with every major pollster group showing within the margin of error or McCain Ahead by a couple of points.
When it comes down to it the Top Tier Issues are The Economy, National Security, Energy, and Leadership. If cats are trying win they are gonna have to start getting real specific real quick and so far McCain has been winning on that front.
And so I move on to Karl Rove.....smh
For Karl Rove to be saying someone not meeting the 100% truth test (which is laughable when it comes to politics) is hilarious.
But it shows some very interesting things. Karl Rove said both campaigns are guilty of it but it doesnt really hurt the Dems becasue Rove is a Republican and will be seen as bias and partisan posturing. His indictment of McCain is much more scathing becasue they are both republcian and Rove happens to be the prince of political campaign lies (swiftboat veterans for truth anyone...?).
Personally I think Rove is trying to reestablish himself as the preeminent strageist for the republicans. Rove strategy 101 is if you gonna stretch the truth/lie do it thru a surrogate so that it can give you the proper space to deny and absolve oneself of responsiblity so that your integrity remains intact (swift boat veterans for truth for example). And both Palin and McCain have ignored this and have been tombstone'd by the media and the Obama Campaign as a result. Rove is trying to perserve his political future, so painting himself as an upholder of "standards" particularly after Bush 43 astounding unpopularity makes the most sense to me
Welp....that pretty much it for the moment. I hope something happens between now and the debate
